Southeastern Europe for Jesus (SEE JESUS) is a Christian non-profit ministry serving as the parent organization to two local works: Croatia for Christ in Croatia and Ikonos in Serbia. Together we equip and strengthen the local Churches of Christ across Southeastern Europe.
Our work flows from one conviction — that the local church, rooted in Scripture and led by faithful ministers, is God's primary vehicle for transformation in this part of the world. SEE JESUS exists to come alongside those churches with media, resources, and aid that a single local body could not produce alone.
We are a small organization with a wide reach — a Managing Board in the United States, and ministers and staff on the ground in Varaždin, Belgrade and Valjevo. Our oversight is provided by the Crestview Church of Christ in Waco, Texas — the very church that sent the first missionaries to the region in 1968.

Draško Đenović
Karaburma Church of Christ · Belgrade
Serves as a minister in Belgrade, organizes youth camps, partners with Eastern European Mission, and regularly comments on religious matters on Serbian national television.
Boris Kačarević
Valjevo Church of Christ
Serves with his family in Valjevo and regularly visits churches in two other towns — leading worship, Bible study and outreach efforts in all three communities.
Decades of faithful work
Seeds in Zagreb
Mladen Jovanović, a young linguistics professor at the University of Zagreb, meets two American missionaries from Crestview Church of Christ in Waco, TX. Reading the Bible together, he comes to faith and is baptized.
A ministry begins
After years of growing churches in homes, Mladen is introduced to the elders of Bammel Road Church of Christ in Houston, TX, who assume oversight of his ministry across Croatia.
War and humanitarian outreach
As Yugoslavia breaks apart, refugees flood Zagreb. The church becomes a hub for shelter, food, clothing and aid. American churches send containers of supplies.
A new church home
After outgrowing the Amruseva building, the Kuslanova Church of Christ building opens in Zagreb — also home to the Bible Institute of Zagreb.
A faithful servant goes home
Brother Mladen Jovanović unexpectedly goes to be with the Lord. The Croatia for Christ ministry he built remains active.
A new chapter
Jurica Lazar takes over as Managing Director and transforms the work into a modern media-driven ministry: a relaunched Family Magazine, new TV production, the Bible app, and Bible distribution with EEM.
Expansion into Serbia
We begin supporting the work of two ministers in Serbia — Draško Đenović and Boris Kačarević — extending the ministry to local Churches of Christ in Belgrade, Valjevo and surrounding towns.
New leadership, new oversight
Crestview Church of Christ in Waco, TX takes over spiritual oversight of the ministry — the very church that sent the first missionaries in 1968. New members join the Managing Board and Željka Košir begins serving with the ministry as the Executive Manager.
